In the Hanging Rock State Park Visitor's Center Gallery - Monty & Jenna Stevens
Local photographers Monty Stevens and daughter, Jenna, will feature stunning photos of Stokes County depicting Hanging Rock State Park locations and the surrounding area. The exhibit includes twenty-three beautifully framed landmarks such as the lower Cascades, Moores Knob, Hidden Falls, the Dan River and a few artistic surprises reflecting seasonal and sunset moments. The exhibit will be on display at the Hanging Rock State Park Visitor’s Center, 1790 Hanging Rock Park Road in Danbury, December through January 2015. The viewing of this exhibit is free and open to the public.
A native of Westfield, Monty is very enthusiastic about photography and loves to see the world through his viewfinder. His interests vary from sunrises and sunsets, nature, cars, landscapes and portraits. Growing up in Westfield, Monty appreciates the beauty Stokes County has to offer and spends a great deal of his time exploring the wonders of nature and capturing the moment with his camera. Monty Stevens Photography was featured in the January/February 2013 issue of Yadkin Valley Living Magazine and has exhibited his work at the Stokes County Arts Council Apple Gallery.
Jenna Stevens is a twenty year old nursing student originally from Westfield. Jenna states “Photography has always been an enjoyable past time for me.” “Wherever I go, my camera is always close by!” Jenna became interested in photography a few years ago when she received her first camera as a Christmas present. A year ago, she launched Horseshoe Photography, which led her to meet with clients, photograph them and capture special moments and events in their lives. Jenna loves nature as well, and enjoys finding her own moments in her surroundings. She states, “To me, photography is placing head, heart, and eye along the same line of sight; it is a way of life.
